We’re pleased to share an update on the major improvements we’ve been making behind the scenes to our hosting and security systems. All work has now been completed and your websites are running on our new, upgraded infrastructure.
What’s been upgraded
Over the past few weeks we have:
Moved all websites to our new IONOS Cloud servers
Our hosting now runs on a faster and more scalable cloud platform. This gives every council website better speed, higher reliability and room to grow.
Added Cloudflare protection for all sites
Cloudflare adds an extra layer of performance and security by providing:
- Faster loading times through global content delivery
- Additional protection against malicious traffic
- Better resilience during busy periods
This means your site remains stable and responsive even during spikes in visitors.
Improved monitoring and backups
Our new systems give us clearer insights, quicker alerts and stronger backups stored across multiple locations for increased resilience.
Streamlined DNS and SSL management
With the move to Cloudflare and IONOS we can issue, renew and manage security certificates more efficiently, reducing the chance of issues.
Better support for email migrations
The new setup allows smoother transfers and fewer delays when councils move their existing email accounts to our new platform.
