By restructuring the database, we’ve managed to streamline the process, reducing the time our servers take to retrieve and send data. The Results
To illustrate the impact of our improvements, we’ve included two graphs showing the server response times before and after the changes.
Before the Improvements:
- Maximum response time: 6,508 milliseconds (ms)
- Minimum response time: 3,887 ms
- Average response time: 4,805 ms
As you can see from the graph, before the upgrade, the server response times were quite high and variable, sometimes spiking as high as 6.5 seconds. This variability in response times could lead to inconsistent website performance, potentially frustrating your visitors.
After the Improvements:
- Maximum response time: 1,791 ms
- Minimum response time: 1,201 ms
- Average response time: 1,434 ms
After the improvements, the response times have become much more stable and significantly faster, with the average response time dropping to around 1.4 seconds.
