Get to know our team a little better in these series
of blogs...
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT IS YOUR JOB ROLE?
I’m Samstar Button and my job role is
sales executive, though I also help act as a personal assistant for Daniel. I
mainly work on selling new websites but also occasionally sell upgrades for
current clients. I also attended the South West Business Expo with
Daniel.
WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORK DAY LOOK LIKE FOR
YOU?
I get in to the office at 10:30 where I’m
greeted by a very excited Johnny. Then I’ll check my emails and
answer any enquiries I’ve been sent. I’ll also ring any
clients or potential clients that feel they need more information or
clarification on something.
When Daniel gets in to the office, I’ll
give him reports on cases that I’m working on and chase up anything
that I need his input for. I’ll also pass over any confirmed sales to
Anji so she can start coordinating the team in getting the website started.
Then after lunch I’ll contact
Council’s with any new services we may be offering and liaise with
the team in making sure all the information we send out is as up to date and
accurate as possible. Then at 16:00 I head home.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
Outside of work, I am a keen street photographer who
loves to travel. I also love fashion (specifically Vivienne Westwood) and can
often be found curled up with a book and a glass of gin and tonic.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK/TV
PROGRAMME/MOVIE?
I don’t watch TV but my favourite films
are E.T. (which I believe to be Spielberg’s finest work) and the
Perks of being a Wallflower.
My favourite book is Oscar Wilde’s Picture
of Dorian Grey. Wilde paints wonderful imagery with his words and every time I
read the book, it reveals new details I didn’t pick up the first time
round. Interestingly, though people believe Wilde to have written many novels,
he has only written one. The rest of his works are plays and essays.
WHAT WOULD YOUR SUPERHERO NAME BE AND WHAT
SUPERPOWER WOULD YOU HAVE?
I wouldn’t really want to be a superhero
because I appreciate the real life heroes we already have. My superheroes are
Vivienne Westwood (non fictional) and Tank Girl (fictional).
WHEN THEY ASKED YOU WHAT JOB YOU WANTED TO HAVE
WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD, HOW DID YOU ANSWER?
I always wanted to be a ballerina but when my hip
dislocated, I was told I couldn’t be. I now believe in making the
best of what you have and doing it to the best of your ability.
CAN YOU TELL US A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?
I had tea with the queen once when she came to
Exeter. She was lovely.
