Meet the Team: Anji

Get to know our team a little better in these series of blogs...

WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT IS YOUR JOB ROLE?

I’m Anji and i'm the Account Manager here at Vision - I'm your link to the team doing work on the sites. I'll also be found organising the office (when we were in it!) and sending out invoices.

WHAT DOES A TYPICAL WORK DAY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU?

Like many my typical day has been somewhat flipped into a new ‘normal’. Now, the school and work run seems a thing of the past. I often wake up early and enjoy a quiet coffee before I’m joined by my daughter. We then have breakfast and get ready for the day; I aim to start work at the latest 8.30, this gives me a little freedom for lunch and  home schooling.

We set up ‘office’ for the day via messaging, this varies depending on the day, and then work alongside each other, so I am on hand to help out when needed. My roles have changed a little since working from home, but I will be replying to emails and calls, and keeping everyone up to date with where things are on current builds. I tend to finish around 14.30 like I normally would – only the journey home is exceptionally quick now!

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Of course this too has changed recently, and although we can now look forward to meeting up with some more people outside of the home, I have missed spending time with family and friends. That said, we have been going on lots of walks exploring our local area, and luckily we enjoy a good walk! We’re also lucky to have a garden and have been making the most of that during lockdown; the trampoline and paddling pool have been put to good use!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK/TV PROGRAMME/MOVIE?

I’m loving reading old favourite childhood books with my daughter, The Magic Faraway tree is the current read, with lots of Roald Dahl classics lined up next. It's lovely seeing the books capture her imagination and her enjoying as much as I did when I was younger.

TV and movie wise, I like most things, as long as they aren’t too scary – it is a running bit in the office when everyone talks about something they watched whether it would be something I would be ok with!

WHAT WOULD YOUR SUPERHERO NAME BE AND WHAT SUPERPOWER WOULD YOU HAVE?

I don’t know if I’d want to be a superhero, there could be a lot of pressure involved in saving the world, especially right now! But if I could spread love and kindness around in giant spoonful’s and remind people how much they mean and what a difference they can make, I’d go for that.

WHEN THEY ASKED YOU WHAT JOB YOU WANTED TO HAVE WHEN YOU WERE A CHILD, HOW DID YOU ANSWER?

I always wanted to work with children, I wanted to help make a difference in their young years and toyed with the idea of being an educational psychologist for a while. College and University were all based on Early Years Education and I was a Youth Worker locally for a number of years. Unfortunately, a knee injury just after completing Uni meant I had to make the tough decision to change careers. I’m lucky to have found a job I enjoy, and still help others, just in different ways.

CAN YOU TELL US A FUN FACT ABOUT YOURSELF?

When I was about 10 I was a ‘model’ for the local theatre on a poster advertising a show, all because I had long hair that went into pigtails really well. The whole cast signed a poster for me and I still have it.
