During this time of quarantine and isolation, many things have changed with our everyday lives, personally and professionally. We wanted to give you a little update as to how this situation is affecting Vision ICT and your websites.

For the safety of our employees, the Vision ICT staff are now working from home (we are all safe and well, don’t worry) so please bear with us if certain tasks take a bit longer than they normally would. Some of our team have children and pets which may make noise, so we appreciate your understanding if there are noises in the background of calls.

Our workload has decreased which has led to Star and Maggie being furloughed for the time being. Until work picks back up again, we will be checking their emails and you will be redirected to another member of staff who will be able to help you.

For some members of staff working home is a breeze, such as our Graphic Designer Paul who was used to it from his time as a freelance designer:

“Before joining Vision ICT I was a home based freelance graphic designer so this is not a new experience for me, although obviously I miss my colleagues and general office chat. The advances of modern technology make it very easy to keep in touch via video conferencing etc.” 

For others, working from home isn’t the only challenge they are facing at the moment such as our Account Manager Anji who has a daughter:

“Not only am I working from home, I'm also finding myself a teacher from home too!  It has taken us a while to find a new rhythm and making sure there is a balance between it all.  I miss the team and seeing them every day, but we have been keeping in touch and apart from them missing my wonderful singing(!) it all seems to be going well.  If however, you get a very young sounding member of the team answering your call, you'll know the teaching part of the day may have slipped!” 

We want to assure you all that we will aim to continue working as normally as possible so you can continue to get the support that you need from us during these trying times. Recently more and more businesses are closing or working remotely in order to halt the spread of the coronavirus and social distancing and self-isolation is becoming more of a necessity in order to protect the more vulnerable people in our communities.

At Vision ICT, we believe that the work councils do and the work we do in supporting councils is important, so we want to assure you all that we will still be working during this time. However, in order to keep our employees safe, we have taken the decision to ask them to work from home from Monday 23rd March. Please be assured, we will still be answering phone calls and emails as normal but will be temporarily halting our face to face training and appearances at conferences (which have been cancelled, understandably). We ask that you all bear with us as we get used to our remote phone system, especially in transferring phone calls and we apologise for any delay in actioning your requests.
